Programs by the Ages
INFANTS
At Kinderoo, kids blossom under gentle, loving, attentive, and emotionally responsive care provided by early childhood educators, specially trained to meet the emotional and developmental needs of our youngest children.
You will always find our room full of loving social interactions and optimal development materials. Teachers form a close partnership with parents to appropriately individualize care. They listen carefully to parents, incorporating information about care at home into care at the Center.
Teachers communicate with parents in both written and oral form, keeping parents fully informed about their child's day, ensuring optimal consistency between home and school. Each child is treasured as a unique individual on his/her own journey towards personhood.

TODDLERS (ONES)
Toddlers need to pursue their drive for independence with teachers there to lend a helping hand when needed.
Toddlers are given lots of interesting activities to choose from that keep them busy and happy throughout the day.
The toddler teachers allow the children to try new things for themselves, only stepping in to help as the need arises.
There is an emphasis on words and communication with teachers supplying the words a toddler can't yet produce. Good, responsive, respectful relationships are the key to good development.

TWOS
Two year olds are working hard on communication and on beginning to negotiate friendships much more independently
than before. They need choices for their play that are interesting and challenging.
The curriculum includes circle time for stories, singing, and discussion. The children are provided pre-math and
pre-literacy activities as well as lots of role-playing opportunities where they can use their imagination. They need
time for free play so that they can construct their own activities with their playmates.
Teachers assist each individual to communicate needs and desires to them and their friends. Always there to help,
teachers assist the children as they negotiate sharing and playing together. Independence is encouraged in daily
living tasks by giving children the time and space to learn to use the toilet, put on their own shoes, and feed
themselves with a teacher nearby to help when needed, but not before. Affection, respect, and sensitivity are important as well as responsiveness to each individual's personality and temperament.

THREES
By the time a child reaches their third birthday, they have a better sense of who they are and their capabilities,
talents, and preferences. They are more verbal and continue to improve with motor skills. They are now ready for many activities, discussions, relationships, and challenges. The focus now is more on stimulation and creativity with lesson plans that embody the children's interests and ideas. They assist as children's social skills grow, helping them learn how to be considerate and articulate their own needs by listening to their friends' feelings.
Problem solving through negotiation is carefully taught as children navigate their day. Creativity, creating community, and the development of the children's ideas are highly valued.

SCHOOLERS
We offer a year-round after school program for elementary school age children. We will take and pick up your
child from Bear Lake, Forest City, Sabal Point and Spring Lake Elementary Schools.
The emphasis in the "schoolers" room is mainly on recreation and developing social and creative skills rather
than academic ones. Children are often tired after a school day and may just want to relax and have fun. Each
child is given help with their homework. There are a wide variety of activities for the children including arts
and crafts, computers, puzzles, and games.
There is a large shaded playground outside with play apparatus. All snacks and drinks are included.
On the days of Seminole County closures, we offer field trips to various locations including skating, bowling,
movies, Plasterific, parks, museums, and places of interest.
